General Information

Travel tips

Arrival to Buenos Aires¡¯ international Ezeiza airport

Please check with your local Argentinian consulate regarding any matters related to immigration bureaucracy.

We do not advise visitors to take a taxi in Ezeiza. It is preferable to either take one of the small buses of the company Tienda Leon or to take a rem¨ªs (a sort of non-luxury car service with pre-arranged fare).

Public transportation in Argentina

In most cities of Argentina, including Buenos Aires, the local public transport (underground trains, trains and buses) is paid by using the ¡°SUBE¡± contactless smart card. It is a pre-paid service and the SUBE card can be acquired and load cash at several kiosks and markets in the cities. Look for the SUBE sign, and look for additional information at the SUBE web page. The ticket cost depends on the service and the location but it will cost more than 1 dollar for a local trip (up to 30km).

As in almost every place in the world, there are also Taxis. Every city in Argentina has its own taxi service, and the cars can be easily identified by their colours (yellow and black in Buenos Aires). In Argentina, there is also a similar service that we call ¡°rem¨ªs¡±, a sort of non-luxury car service with driver with a pre-arranged fare. The rem¨ªs service is usually a bit cheaper than taxis for the same trip. Uber is also available at some cities, but the service is still not allowed by public authorities, so use at your own risk.

How to get to the Centro At¨®mico Constituyentes (CAC) campus

There are several public transport services that allow you to arrive to CAC. The cost is about half a dollar, and you have to use your SUBE card. If you don¡¯t have enough credit, just ask to locals and they will help you with their own SUBE. We strongly recommend to use Google Maps service to find the best way to reach CAC from your hotel.

Currency and cash availability

The Argentinian currency is the peso ($). The US Dollar is usually written u$s or USD. The exchange rates can vary on a daily basis. You can check the current exchange rate in the Argentinian National Bank. Nowadays the exchange rate is about 1 USD = 63 ARS. You can obtain pesos at several currency exchange agencies in the downtown or in most of the ATM located in several places across the city. Credit cards are widely spread and many automated tellers are linked to major international networks like Visa, Mastercard, Cirrus and Plus.
